Santa Maria Novella will open your nose and your heart to its rich apothecary legacy and Florentine history. Founded in 1221 as the go-to place for medicinal plants, perfumes, cosmetics and candles, the historic house is the oldest pharmacy in the world. Santa Maria Novella has unique production processes that highlights craftsmanship and is still carried out in the very places it all began eight centuries ago.
