Kenzo is one of the most known luxury designers. The brand was founded in 1970 in Paris by Kenzo Takada, with its first boutique in Galerie Vivienne. For the first couple of years it functioned under the name ‘Jungle Jap’ - combining the words ‘jungle’ and ‘Japan’, as the founder’s first collections were strongly influenced by nature, jungle and animal motives. But that wasn't his only inspiration. Kenzo Takada was fascinated with the designs and prints of kimonos and he was one of the first people that incorporated Japanese patterns in his designs, which was revolutionary for the European fashion. He used bold colours and interesting designs, and that remained a signature style for the Kenzo brand. Since their first opening the brand has been constantly evolving and reinterpreting the elements that make it unique - original prints, cultivated colour palette and tasteful creativeness. Kenzo’s collections reflect positive energy, freedom and versatility that can be found in nature and diverse cultures, that were always substantial elements of this brand.
